Senior, Ben Peloquin is currently a captain on the varsity hockey team, and part of the golf team.

Q: What sports are you involved in?

A: I play hockey in the winter and golf in the spring.

Q: How long have you been playing each sport?

A: I’ve been playing golf since I was 3 and hockey since I was 6.

Q: What Is the role of a hockey team captain? What does that mean to you?

A: Well being a captain, obviously you’re supposed to be a leader to the team on and off the ice, and it’s been a goal of mine since I came in as a freshman, to be a captain, and you just have to be a leader, and lead by example with your actions and your words.

Q: How do you balance school with sports?

A: I’ve taken a lot of AP classes and tough classes so it’s a lot of work and there’s some late nights but you have to manage your time. There’s not a whole lot of free time on weekdays and stuff like that to hang out with friends, so weekends become pretty valuable.

Q: How have you bonded with your teammates over the years?

A: There’s been more bonding in hockey, because golf is more individual. But in hockey, we’ve all grown up together and played on the same teams for awhile and they’re definitely my best friends. We’ve been playing together and taking road trips together since we were 7 or 8 years old, and we all know everyone from each others families and it’s just one big hockey family.
