On Dec.15, 2017 the newest Star Wars movie hit the big screen making it the number one movie in the world for a time. “The Last Jedi” had fans of all ages going to see it, sometimes more than once.

The movie started with the evacuation of the Resistance base due to the First Order finding them in “The Force Awakens”. The Resistance manages to get everyone on to their main small fleet of ships, but not before the First Order tries to gun them down. They manage to escape by jumping into hyperspace and the movie cuts away to Ray giving Luke Skywalker his father’s lightsaber when he proceeds to toss it off a cliff like it means nothing to him.

Next, the Resistance exits hyperspace only to learn the First Order was tracking them the entire time. With a lack of fuel and ships to make a stand to fend them off, all they can do is keep out of the distance of their cannons. The movie continues to cut back and forth between the island where Luke Skywalker is training Ray and the Resistance fleet running away from the first order. We then see Ray finally meet with Supreme Leader Snoke only to see the most unexpected plot twist that will leave viewers breathless.

This movie is so much better than “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” put together. It’s everything that people were expecting and not. From the scenery of the film to the animation that made the world come to life, it is a fantastic movie that will make you watch it over and over until your heart’s content. Carrie Fisher, who finished filming before her passing, was brilliant in her final performance as Princess Leia. Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Adam Driver were all great. This movie is truly amazing and can be easily given two thumbs up. I would highly recommend that people who haven’t seen the movie go see it in theaters while it’s still there, or wait until it is released to take home in April.
